Lecturer Aivars Alt Introduces 3D Concrete Printing at Military Technology Conference

Aivars Alt, lecturer at the Insitute of Civil Engineering of TTK UAS introduced 3D concrete printing for military applications at Estmil.tech Conference.

In his presentation, Alt showcased the versatile capabilities of 3D concrete printing developed at TTK for military use. He highlighted the diverse applications of 3D concrete printing in constructing various infrastructures, including shelters and training complexes. In military situations where rapid responsiveness is crucial, mobile printing technologies can be employed for the establishment of various military facilities.

Alt emphasized the economic efficiency of 3D printing in his presentation. Special concrete mixes have been developed locally in Estonia, and many concrete structures can be recycled later on. The use of local materials and mobile printing capabilities simplifies logistics and mitigates carbon footprint.

The conference, held on January 24-25, 2024, focused on the challenges of military technology for small countries. Special attention was given to the utilization of AI technology in conflicts, challenges in joint operations, and electronic warfare.
