The winner of the student award 2019 of the Estonian Architecture Awards is Veiko Vahtrik, a graduate from the Institute of Architecture of TTK UAS, for his MA thesis „Affordable Living“.
The homepage of the Estonian Architecture Awards states: “The strength of Veiko Vahtrik’s Master’s thesis “Affordable Housing” lies in its topicality and social responsibility. The Estonian society is progressively marked by spatial, age, ethnical and regional segregation with its bitter fruit ready to taste in the next two decades. Unfortunately, the topic has not attracted wider public attention so far and, therefore, an MA thesis of such depth is certainly appreciated.”
